Redeeming a Bad BoyToday was a big step in getting one of my favorite bad boy stories I'd written to publication. Redeeming Senpai is Kai and Liam's story. Kai was a character from Seducing Sensei that was a bit antagonistic, even though he did help Moriel (the main character from Book 1). But in book 2 he is the anti-hero. I wanted to write Kai's story from his point of view because I felt he had gotten the shaft in Seducing Sensei. He was the character that brought some tension into into the the story. Originally Seducing Sensei was not only my fan letter to yaoi, it was also a self-made challenge. Romance has the opportunity of getting 2 characters together and switching their roles as protagonist and antagonists back and forth. I also wanted to do a ménage that made sense. At least for me. And I didn't want a one or the other scenario for the main character. I am very proud of Seducing Sensei. I have read the book several times even after it was published which is a horrible idea. Why? Because it gives me the chance to pick at all the things that I could have done. WHAT IF? What if is a very bad question for me after I publish. I then start thinking I should have done it this way... And that's one of my larger problems in getting books released. I'll sit on a book and figure out the best ending. The problem is that the book takes longer to finish. This is a prime example of perfection vs. published. Or maybe in my case laziness vs. published. I have 4 books waiting for copy edits for this very reason. Enough, I say! So here's to a year of releases, writing more, writing faster and publishing more books every year. Redeeming Senpai is the 1st book of 2022 that I will be pushing out! Three more to go!!! I hope to publish at least 3 books this year. March was supposed to be the first release but I had a late start on the cover which pushed my final date to May. OMGosh I sound like a whiny bag of excuses. Well, what was the big step? I just put the dang book on Goodreads so there... progress! BlurbOf course I've talked about this book and now would be the time to reveal what it's about! Here's the description: One runaway. One social worker. Two lives searching for redemption. Kai Akiyama never expects to love again. Not after one horrifying night that landed his best friend and lover in the hospital. The worst part is he knows he has screwed up and the damage can never be repaired. When the dust settles, Kai resigns himself to a life of secrets and loneliness. Liam Kroll needs something to cling to after those he loves have thrown him away. He wants something more than a life in the ghetto. When Kai pulls Liam from death, both know they can’t hide from the thing they want most. Each other. In that one-time meeting, Kai, knowing he is no savior, lets Liam go to recover from his life-altering experience. After years of searching, a handful of mistakes, and following cold leads, Liam finally reunites with Kai with the intent of forcing the social worker to make good on a broken promise. But all that brings them together can also rip them apart. While the two get to know each other, their sordid pasts catch up with them, resulting in a tangled struggle to find each other through their own strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately, if they want to be together, they realize that they must move into the future by facing the past. Until next time...
