Yearning for a normal life, assassin Karmen-Marie has had enough. Enough of surviving contracted hits, and enough of the post-apocalyptic world. Forced to take one last job, Karma sets out across the frozen landscape of Earth. Rea MacBain's job is to ensure the safety of Earth's precious few water purification plants. He believes his abusive past must stay buried under the snow that encases his domain. A single bullet will send Karma and Rea in a direction they’d never expected. Ice cold assassin's blood drives the woman sent to kill him, yet it ignites the fire which thaws Rea's heart. Read more for my review. My Review:This book must be read twice.
It's been a while that a book has thrown me. It's refreshing. 1:05 A.M. has such a unique voice aside from other dystopian books that it should be in it's own class of awesome. While an easy read, this book isn't just for the mindless. Though you can read and go along for the ride, it also gives those with a wandering mind a puzzle that asks to be solved. I dare anyone: try and solve it before the end. Gears, as a secondary supporting character was my personal favorite. Always putting foot-in-mouth or dispensing logical wisdom in an illogical situation, Gears was adorable. Definately my type of book boyfriend, but I'm unusual. I like the glasses type. I know, I'm a freak that way. The strong, masculine dude and main character, Rea, would be the logical book boyfriend. But I digress. Rea and Karma as main characters were awesome. It is surprisingly hard to make an assassin likeable, but C.M.Moore does it! The story flowed into a surprising twist that was there in the background but wasn't revealed until the last pages of the book. As an author, I've read a lot of books, and it's amazingly hard to pull over anything on me. I was surprised and loved it. This universe is fleshed out and still has mysteries about that I can't wait to see what's next! I know C.M.Moore is working on short story all about Gears and I'll be the first one clamoring for it at the book store. But I hear it will be free at his website: http://www.authorcmmoore.com/ Comments are closed.
