Doing the WorkLast month I asked writing groups how they stayed on track. Their answers varied, but the consensus was BICHOK (Butt In Chair, Hands On Keyboard). Well, I'm happy to share that even though I don't write every single day, I've managed to get Working Title Pyromage, Book 1 to the copy editor. I've also started on working on Pyromage, Book 2. According to my schedule and the handy dandy spreadsheet I compiled with tabs accounting for every part of the book process. Word Count, Release Calendar, Book Links, Budget, Marketing & Editing Schedule (each their own tab) but this massive organizational tool lets me see things in a birds eye view and also helps me with dates. I'm so proud of this thing I could shed a tear. If you ever want to see this sucker, just ask. I will so geek out on you about it. It's a spreadsheet of 10 years in the making! I digress. Squirrel! Where was I? Right! ProgressSo things are getting written.
The Silent Road has come back from copy edits. I'll be looking for it's cover in October. I have to write the second book to that because while it's not a cliff-hanger, my main character did not solve every issue he had and there's more story to tell there. But I'm thinking I might need to push back the release of book 2 because I have not written a stitch for that. On the other hand, it would be a good to see how fast I can go. I'd like to know what I can sustain. The accountability police aren't coming for me today! So I have the plan and the releases for 2023 look like: March - The Silent Road June - The Silent Road, Book 2 (Name still to be determined. The Blind Curve might be good) September - Pyromage, Book 1 December - Pyromage, Book 2 Though I've had some beta readers want to export my end trails outside my body for not having book 2 of Pyromage ready for them. (<<--o-->>) So I should expect next month to have the last of the nothing to show you yet months. Because then it will be the roller coaster of writing. Yay! And somewhere in all that there is going to be Blood Money. Blood Doll. Blood Pact. And lots of blood for Penn Scripter. So that's my report for August! Tell time to suck it! I'm on it! Till next time... ...happy reading! ~ Stephy Comments are closed.
