And here we are at the of February and my last chance to proclaim love stuff! A while ago my beloved DW and I wrote a story together. He had the ideas, the plot and the characters. I wrote the story. He plays Elite: Dangerous with his HOTAS (Hands On Throttle And Stick) and his Oculus Rift glasses. Below is the blurb for what we came up with:
Corran Antilles is having a bad life. Schlepping cargo for the Federation doesn't pay. Even worse, the corporate hauler assigned to him malfunctions inside Trevithick Station. Before Corran's ship trouble costs him his life, he's able to land, but at the price of his job. Down on his luck, with no money and no way to get home, Corran thinks he’s hit the jackpot when a stranger approaches and offers him the chance of a lifetime. But of course, nothing in the Federation is free, and there's always a catch.
Now, you don't have to be a fan of Elite: Dangerous to like the story, and while some of the terminology is sci-fi I'm sure you'll be able to understand. I had this professionally edited for him and I kept it at 5k words but I hope to have more Corran Antilles stories in the future. A lot of what happens to Corran actually happened in the game. It's where DW got some of the ideas and such. This was so much fun to write and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as we enjoyed writing it.
