How I've Tasked Myself to go Back in Time to Write

I can see the way, and yet, it still eludes me and gives me no more perspective than this forest path

Every October, while other writers are prepping for NaNoWriMo, I'm planning next years releases. This year I seem to have scheduled myself so that I should have already finished outlining Book 3 of a series last week.  

The Low Down

You're owed some books. And while I don't wanna have my books take years to publish like some famous fantasy writers (Brandon Sanderson should be the norm, not the exception) I can't help but need money to produce the books. 

Okay, that's not fair to me. I help other writers market and get their books published. Which leaves less time for me to write & market my own books.

Where's Pyromage 2, Stephanie?

What about Blood Money, Stephanie?

You should be writing the sequel to The Silent Road, Stephanie.

The Line Up

Here is my lofty plan!

The Pyromage series might be going first. It was 3 books but I think it actually might be 6 books. Which makes me think, I should finish the sequel to The Silent Road first. Because, then, that two book "series" (or would it just be called a double?) will be done. Which would give me time to outline more of the Pyromage series. 

But I have another idea for another series about light bondage and trust and a main character who has an ailment... that's not a thinly disguised veil of a do-over of Dr. Vampye. 

Then there's Blood Money. Yes, my other pen name I share with my mom! I want that out. 

So all I have to do is go back in time and get this all done for 2024. 

What Will Probably Happen

I may only get one book out this year. But if I get two out, that's one more than last year. And that would mean progress. And progress would mean something to me. 

Maybe I'm just amusing myself right now, but I think I needed this post as a sounding board. So like every other blog post I have. Except for the giveaway posts. Which are happing all the time. ​

I'm hopeful and I've made this schedule and it might be contrived or contorted and messy, but we're gonna try it. 

The key is to get books out there!

Not strictly because you need them, but also because I need them out of my head. 

The Round Up

I will see if I can get the following out in 2024: 

• Sequel to The Silent Road
• Blood Money (at least the first book)
• Pyromage (Books 1 - 3)

That's 5 books. I have:

• One completed: Pyromage Book 1
• Three completed 1st drafts: Pyromage Book 2, Blood Money, A Blind Curve (The Silent Road sequel)
• One to Outline: Pyromage Book 3
